Thank You for Making our 7th Year a Huge Success!!!
Saturday, March 10th was an incredible day all around. Thank you to all the runners, volunteers, sponsors and staff at Mick Morgan’s who helped make the 7th Annual St. Patrick’s 5K for HESSCO another successful one. Despite the cool temperatures and the remnants of that week’s snow storm still lining the race route, over 600 runners, spectators and supporters turned out for the event which brought in over $47,000 for HESSCO programs and services.
The annual 5K coincides with the national March for Meals campaign which mobilizes hundreds of local Meals on Wheels programs across the country to reach out to their communities and build support through public events, partnerships, volunteer recruitment and fundraising. Meals on Wheels means so much to the seniors who receive them. Not only does it combat senior hunger, but the nutritious meal delivery provides an important friendly visit and safety check. In many cases, the volunteer driver is the only person the recipient sees all day. The support and popularity of this event has continued to grow each year. We are so thankful to all the runners, volunteers, sponsors and staff at Mick Morgan’s who helped make the 7th Annual St. Patrick’s 5K for HESSCO another successful one. Key 2018 Sponsors were: Finish Line Sponsor – Central Auto Group; Platinum Sponsors – ADJ Group, Anodyne Homemaker Services Corp, Dedham Savings, Douglas A. King Builders, Inc., Lamar Advertising, Pawtucket Credit Union, Wegmans, 105.7 WROR and Zalkin Law Firm, PC.
The trophy for the top overall female finisher went to Christine Howe from Stoughton, and the trophy for the top overall male finisher went to Danny Hargan from Walpole. Trophies were also presented to the top three teams. Taking top honors in the Team Category was Foxboro Leprechauns, followed by Run Like a Mother and Orangetheory Fitness – Walpole. Medals were also awarded to the top three male and female best times in seven different age categories. A complete listing of race results can be found on Racewire.
