Christmas in July

Every year, HESSCO commits to providing special holiday meals, the day before Thanksgiving and Christmas, to older adults in the HESSCO region that will be alone for the holidays and are unable to cook for themselves. These special meals are not funded by any government funding because they fall outside the dietary standards of Meals on Wheels which restricts sodium, fat and calories.

Providing these meals costs HESSCO about $10 each and we rely on the generosity of donors to help offset this additional expenditure. This year, we’re starting our fundraising for these meals a little early – with Christmas in July! Please consider making a donation for our holiday meals program so we can start estimating how many special meals we’ll be able to deliver this holiday season.
