As a member of the MetroWest Aging and Disability Resource Consortium (ADRC), HESSCO subscribes to a No Wrong Door Policy providing seamless access to the care, support and solutions you need.

The MetroWest ADRC  is a partnership between HESSCO, Bay Path Elder Services and the Independent Living Center (ILC). The MetroWest ADRC can assist you and your family to learn about in-home services, meals on wheels, transportation and other supports to help you to live independently in your community. Open 9-2 – Companies and Organizations will display information, resources and/or tools about aging well.

RELAXATION ROOM

Open 9-2 – Offering a variety of pampering treatments featuring Perfectly Balanced Life, a company dedicated to teaching relaxation techniques and offering massage and meditation to seniors.   You can sign up for the treatment of your choice (chair massage, reflexology, satin hand treatments) on the day of the event on a first-come, first-serve basis.

 WELLNESS ROOM

Open 9-2 – Featuring health screenings, SHINE counseling, Medication Reviews and Options Counseling (providing information and assistance in connecting with appropriate resources). Participants are encouraged to bring a list of current medications for 1:1 meetings with SHINE counselors and staff from Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

PRESENTERS

Bruce Frankel is a nationally is a nationally-known activist in the field of positive aging. He is the author of the best-selling book What Should I Do With The Rest Of My Life?, a leader of The Life Planning Network, and an entrepreneur building digital communities. He was a writer and editor for People magazine and Time Inc. and the New York-based national reporter for USA Today. He lives in Sharon, MA.

Robert Pierson is the Director of Norfolk County Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) which recruits and places volunteers age 55+ in community assignments throughout Norfolk County.

Shannon Collins is a licensed social worker and a certified Savvy Caregiver Program facilitator. As the Family Caregiver Specialist at HESSCO, Shannon connects caregivers with resources, and provides answers, direction and emotional support.

Madhav Kacker, D.B.A. is a retired professor having taught marketing and international business courses at various schools including Hofstra University in Long Island and Suffolk University in Boston. As a volunteer, he has served on the Board of AARP state office and on HESSCO advisory board. Currently, Dr. Kacker serves on the board of Sharon COA.

Hockomock Area YMCA partners with organizations in its 15 communities to implement evidence-based health intervention programs focused on changing health behavior. Caitlin Gibbs, Director of Health Innovation, will present on the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program, other supportive programs and introduce a low-impact exercise class.

MEN’S CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP FACILITATORS

Mike O’Donnell, BSW, is a social worker and Human Rights Officer at Norwood Adult Day Health Center.  He facilitates their caregiver support group.

Al Bugeau is currently caring for his wife of 55 years. He is actively involved in the community and has completed the Powerful Tools for Caregivers class.

GUIDED MEDITATION FACILITATOR 

Soni Sayana began her study and practice of Raja Yoga in 2011 at the Learning Center for Peace in Watertown, MA.  Since 2012, she has served her hometown community of Westwood, MA by teaching meditation classes.  She is also a part of ShineBright Workshops, which introduces mindfulness, yoga and meditation to children.
